Long before calendars, someone knitted two mittens from the wool of the first sheep. One was lost in a snowdrift the size of a mountain. The other was not.
That one became Ancient Mitten. It has warmed the hands of shepherds, sailors and at least one confused yeti. It has outlived empires, ice ages and every sock that ever went missing in the wash.
It doesn't complain. It doesn't unravel. It just waits, patiently, for the day the other mitten comes home.
